I Love Going to the Dentist!

Okay, maybe I exaggerated just a smidge, but it is definitely true that my dentist runs the happiest business I’ve ever seen. I will keep his name confidential because I know he’d be embarrassed, (and his practice is already full).
The fact that I enjoy seeing him is all the more extraordinary when you consider that he has to overcome a huge obstacle right out of the gate in his business—most people dislike going to the dentist because there is often pain involved.
His team of hygienists and administrative folks are all warm, positive people who offer a friendly greeting as you walk through the office. I often hear them talking and laughing with their patients in the examining rooms.
The boss is a bright, fun-loving guy who easily meets my two main requirements for a service provider, he is both competent and caring. When I don’t have a mouth full of instruments, we joke and laugh about a wide variety of topics. He has lots of interests, and he clearly likes his profession and his patients.
In particular, he is always gentle and concerned about whether whatever procedure he's doing is causing any pain. I’ll adapt the old country song and even say that he “holds the drill like a mother holds the hand of a child.” BTW, he does good work, too
Dentistry is not a profession that holds any allure for me, but thank goodness there are folks like my dentist who go into the profession. I count my relationship with him as one of the great good fortunes in my life.
Do your clients feel this way about doing business with you? If not, why? You’re not giving them too much pain, are you?
