Terry "Doc" Dockery, Ph.D.

Terry is a Business Scaling Coach, speaker, and writer who is Founder and CEO of The Resolve Firm. Since 1993 he has helped leaders in small to Fortune 500 companies to have more fun, make more money, and do more good.

He specializes in helping leaders solve the Business Conundrums that they encounter along the way to actualizing their goals.

Doc holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, and he has been interviewed as an expert on leadership and organizational high performance by publications such as USA Today,, CFO Magazine, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

He has served on the faculty of the U.S Chamber of Commerce executive training program and the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards committee of the Georgia Psychological Association. He has also served on numerous Boards of Advisers, and is currently most active helping to develop young entrepreneurs at the Kennesaw State University Entrepreneurship Center.

In his spare time Doc is widely known as a man who puts the "harm" in harmonica--he plays in an Allman Brothers tribute band that regularly packs venues in Atlanta and the Southeast. He is a former professional musician who received the Lucille Award from B.B. King himself.

Sharon Fruits

As Principal and Co-Founder of The Resolve Firm, Sharon brings her extensive leadership, process and execution chops to the table. She has broad experience working in various departments of major corporations, including 18 years with a Fortune 500 company advancing quickly and leading different parts of the business (IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, Manufacturing, Customer Service). During her rapid ascent in corporate America, Sharon received extensive training in leadership and people development, skills which she regularly brings to client engagements.

Leveraging her big company experience, Sharon also launched two successful start-ups, one in the environmental arena and the other in building and investment. As a key leader for a small software company, Sharon was responsible for 15 Fortune 500 and 1000 global customers, managing major projects, staff, budgets, customer relationships, and new business development.

A Magna cum Laude graduate from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Management Science and Information Technology, Sharon is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Recipient of DuPont’s Work/Life Award for helping colleagues balance work/life, she is well-attuned to helping C-level leaders master balance in their professional and personal lives.  At The Resolve Firm, Sharon personifies her life motto of leaving personal and business relationships better off than before crossing paths, though she readily admits that she plays a mean game of tennis.

what it's like to work with us

We're serious folks, but we don't take ourselves seriously. Business can be hard, its problems sometimes feel insurmountable, its stresses seemingly limitless. So, let's tackle your conundrums with a bit of humor, a slice of chill, and a dash of "it will all be OK."

We believe all our clients have the right to have fun, the right to make money, and the right to be treated as a friend.

Trusted and highly referred by clients, we believe empathy instills understanding, focus ensures effectiveness, and authenticity enables resolution. Along the way, we make it easy and fulfilling for C-level executives to resolve pesky conundrums. There are a trillion business growth consultants in Atlanta - we are not like any of them. Working with us is an experience like no other, rife with honest reflection, replete with crisp recommendations, and ripe with tangible and meaningful value.

A promise in business is rare these days, but we have one. We stand behind the quality of our work. We promise to be competent and caring in all the relationships and goals we pursue. If our counsel is followed and we haven’t achieved the objectives we’ve agreed upon, then we  think it only fair to get a chance for a “do-over” to make it right. If we still can’t get it done, then we’ll return your money.

While we work on difficult or tension-laced issues, we'll do our level best to keep it light, to stay focused on the goal, and to get it resolved.  We're not "drive-by" consultants, but "dive in" adjuncts to your team. Period.

To address issues and ultimately resolve them, trust and safety are essential. That's why we emphasize confidentiality in all of our engagements. Hey, if what happens in Vegas can stay in Vegas, we're pretty sure we can keep what happens in our engagements close to the vest.

We're Georgia-born and Georgia-bred, which means we care deeply about our community.  While we've lived and worked all around the country, we chose to return to the place we call home.

Helping Atlanta area businesses prosper and thrive is how we add value and give back.  Just a few of the organizations we regularly give back to are listed below.
